Where has Hailey Been?

When November was over, I was looking forward to December.  The holidays...shopping...Christmas decorations...Santa visits...crafts...baking cookies...gingerbread houses.  I filled in my December calendar on the refrigerator and realized my festive month was filling up before my eyes...therapies, Christmas parties, shopping, Christmas programs, basketball for the boys, programs at church.  Suddenly I had a full month and it was only the 1st!  I'm constantly amazed at how busy our life with 3 kids has become :-)  So with a few pics and few words, here is what we have been up to and why my poor blog has been neglected.

Our new-found skill...climbing on the furniture.  Downside, she "dives" off of the furniture.  I'm afraid to share the video because someone may call children services!

She's very proud of herself!

Big brother's basketball games

Go Panthers!

If you only knew, how much this little guy wants to be on the court!

I'm cleaning up after little hurricane...a LOT!

Apparently, broccoli is NOT what she wanted for lunch!

Clean, recently folded clothes are so much fun!

She emptied this twice...when will I learn?

My husband's work party
Big brother's music program at school.
Some of the family has been recovering from a bug and I've been disinfecting the house as the "sick" ones get better.  Our goal is to make sure only 2 of the 5 get it.

I feel bad because I really haven't been focused too much at home on therapy or our "homework".   I think Hailey has been taking care of it on her own while she's "playing".  She loves taking the clings off the French doors and her ornaments off her felt tree.  She has taken off all the ornaments that she can reach on the tree in the family room.  She throws them on the floor and yells "ball!".  She does awesome squats while dancing to the musical snowmen.  At the moment, she is emptying the diaper basket into a box and then refilling the basket.  Again, great squats and stability.  Wow...this child is a busy body!!!  She goes until she crashes!

I didn't know a year ago that any of this was possible.  I know I've said it before, but I never believed that "normal" existed.  I always thought we would have a large DS on our chest like a scarlet letter.  We are just like you....enjoying the holidays with our children.  We are so blessed for this normal and I don't think I'll ever take it for granted again.

  5. she is adorable! I have to laugh at her craziness though, she is so much like my third little guy (has DS too). I kind of thought he would be calmer. He is pure danger! Climbs everything and has not developed any sense of fear. But, he is the sweetest cuddly guy too.

    1. Knock on wood, teething hasn't phased Hailey much (but it didn't her brothers either). I wish she would get a little more fearful though!
