Hailey & Sound

One thing that has been much different with Hailey is her response to loud noises and large crowds.  Hailey has a higher sensitivity to fireworks, PA systems and large crowds.  We do know that she has smaller than average ear canals.  We aren't sure if sounds are amplified and she will outgrow it or if she just has noise sensitivity and we will deal with it forever.  In the meantime, we keep noise canceling headphones with us in case she needs them.  We were reluctant to purchase them because I don't want her to always let her have them.  I don't want them to become a crutch, but at the same time, we don't want to ruin family functions.  Hailey doesn't always use them, but for the most part, we do need them during fireworks and inside sporting events (high school basketball games, hockey games, etc).  It is just minor, but we like to have them on hand...it makes her happy and then the entire family can enjoy the event.  It is a win-win!
