As "Normal" as the Next Family

I think some people still think "oh, I couldn't do it"...."they are stronger than me"..."their lives have to be so different"...."their daily lives are disrupted"...I truly believe some feel sorry for us and think we are putting up a front.

This post is just a few video clips of what our life is really like.  Our day to day life is very similar to what it was before Hailey was born.  It is just a little nuttier with a 3rd child!  The boys still have activities...soccer, school, playdates, playing outside with our neighbors.  I still run errands...grocery store, paying bills, shopping, lunch with friends.  We still have dinner together as a family, watch movies, play games, go out to dinner.  The only difference is that we have another child in tow.  Life adjusted by adding another child...just as anyone else's does when they have another child.  Hailey does not hinder anything we do...she enhances our lives.  That smile...that giggle.  She fits in our lives like another piece to a puzzle.

She is the most determined, strongest, hardest working child I have ever met.  She is my hero!

Here is what our world looks like....

No...Hailey was not hurt (I promise!)....big brother was just making her laugh.

Here is Hailey playing peek-a-boo with her dress...I think she will be wearing shorts under her dresses until she is 30!

This is Hailey's newest milestone...the rockstar can crawl...nothing is stopping her now :-)

  1. This is what I keep telling people. My life is no different than the life of any very engaged parent, and I am by no means in any way 'special'. I'm just putting one foot in front of the other and getting (or sometimes not if Desperate Housewives is on) things done.
Our lives are in no way harder, sadder, or less fulfilling, good on you for showing that!

  2. The videos are great! I love how she laughs at her brother. I think our life is just the way it always was ... but busier. I figure it would be that way with ANY third child, regardless of chromosomes. :)

  3. Love it! She is adorable! I have been meaning to do a 'day in the life' type video but just haven't gotten around to it yet. Great message!

  4. Great videos! Our life is also very normal. We do the same things every other family does, swimming, going for walks, sitting out by the fire ring. Nothing very unusual here!

  5. And she's even on hands and knees! That's great. With the way she was putting her one foot down while she crawls, I bet she'll be up and walking so soon.
