A note from Hailey

It has been a little while since Mommy has let me have control of the blog.  This is such a crazy time of year!  I thought I would catch you up on everything in my world.

All these parties, visiting people, shopping and visiting this big guy with a white beard ....it can wear a little girl out!

I've seen the big, white-bearded guy a couple of times.  Everyone said his name is Santa Claus and he is going to bring me lots of presents.  I do need some new toys.  I'm started getting bored with the ones I have now so that will be good.  I have been a very good girl this year.  I'm not so sure about his beard though.  It is fun to pull on it!  I gave him my list but I'm not quite sure he understood what I asked for.  I guess we will see next week.

This weekend I met this cute girl named Joella that is 4 years old.  Mommy said she has Down syndrome like me.  She really liked me and kept giving me kisses.  Mommy said she will write more about Joella later.

I love all the Christmas decorations and lights in the house, but they seem to get me into trouble.  I've been hearing a lot of "No, Hailey" recently.

This Veggie Tale nativity set is the only thing I'm allowed to play with under the tree.

Mommy finally bought be a Christmas stocking.  It doesn't look like everyone else's but I really like Minnie.

We do have this crazy elf in our house named Bernard.  He has been in all kinds of crazy places throughout the house.  My brothers seem to like his zipline today the best.

Therapy seems to be going good.  L came on Friday and we worked on 4 point and crawling.  On my own, I moved my left knee forward but didn't know what to do with everything else and face planted.  I want to crawl.  I rock back and forth but it is so much quicker to roll around or crawl backwards to get what I want.  I'll get it...eventually!  I have speech therapy and OT after the New Year.  I hope they think I have been working hard because I really have.

I am having a problem in the house with sharing.  Mom keeps giving me baby food when all I want is what everyone else is eating.  She shares some stuff but insists that some food is still off limits.  I was able to eat Chipotle the other day.  It was awesome.  I liked the rice, black beans and guacamole.  I wanted more but mommy was afraid I would get a tummy ache.  Mommy seems surprised that I can eat almost anything without any teeth.  Maybe Santa will bring me a couple for Christmas :-)

Mommy and Daddy seem really excited for Christmas.  They said we have so much to celebrate and thank God for.  My brothers are counting down the days until Santa comes to our house.

On another note, Mommy said I've been doing a couple things that are driving her crazy.  I was crossing and rolling my eyes for a couple of days.  What mommy and daddy didn't realize is that I had a few hairs that were getting in my eyes and driving me crazy too!  Mommy said barrettes and headbands are a necessity every day now.  The other thing is...I really don't like to be left in a room by myself and I don't like it when mommy and daddy give too much attention to my brothers (and not me).  I start by talking loud and if that doesn't work I pull out the tears.  That generally does the trick :-)

The last day or so, I've been a little stuffy.  Mommy said that is typical...someone always gets sick before a holiday!  It's not slowing me down...Mommy said I'm one tough cookie!

In case Mommy doesn't let me write again until after Christmas....I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas.  Safe travels to everyone traveling to see family.  Can't wait for mommy to share all of our Christmas photos.  I think the wrapping paper will be fun!!!!

  3. Dear Hailey, I'm stuffy too but that hasn't stopped me from having fun. My mom has already let me play with wrapping paper. It's a lot of fun! Love, Ben
