I wondered when Hailey was born, how she would fit into our lives and into our families. As I've already shown this month, there are no issues when it comes to the relationship with Hailey and her brothers. They drive one another crazy and love one another to pieces. Some days all is unicorn and rainbows and other day they can't handle being in the same room. Just as life was with my siblings growing up.
Another relationship I wondered about was between Hailey and her cousins. This past weekend, we were able to spend a few days with my husband's side of the family. Each side has 9 grandkids (including my 3). On Jason's side, Hailey falls in the last three. She is the youngest girl and we have two nephews that are a year younger than her. Unfortunately, she shows lots of behaviors of having older brothers when it comes to the two younger boys. Fortunately for them, they will catch up in size soon with her and I'm hoping they use their size to not let her get her way :-)
Here are a few pics of Hailey with her cousins. I'm not worried about that relationship any longer. I'll let you make your own decision.
With only three girls in the group, Hailey will sometimes stick to Shea. Especially, when they both share the same love for junk food and chocolate.

Poor Landon hasn't built up his strength enough yet to hold his own to Hailey's tactics. |

She tries to play nice and then.... |

She goes for the body slam! |

This one is blurry, but I had to share because it looks like Hailey is bossing him around |

Jaxon has almost passed Hailey in height. They were food and drinking buddies over the weekend. One would take a drink and then pass it on. Hopefully neither of them were sick! |

All the grandkids minus one with my husband. Hailey fits in just fine! |
I once worried how Russell's cousins would see and accept him. Seems so silly now looking back that that was even a fear. They are so proud of him and love him unconditionally. And obviously Hailey's cousins do the same :)
ReplyDeleteI love how silly some of our fears seem now :-)
DeleteYep! She fits right in. But she seems to do that wherever she goes.
ReplyDeleteYes, she seems to...or she forces them to let her :-) She is quite sassy!
